STATEMENT OF FAITH:

a) We believe that the Bible, as we have it in the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments, is divinely inspired and the only infallible and authoritative word of God. 2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:20-21; Matt 5:18; 1 Cor 2:13

b) We believe that there is one God, Creator and Lord of the Universe, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, distinguishable but invisible. Deut 6:4; Is 44:6-8; Matt 28:19; 2 Cor 2:13

c) We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son incarnate, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, truly man. He died on the cross of Calvary as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of all mankind. He was buried, rose from the dead bodily, and ascended into heaven, where he is now interceding as High Priest at the right hand of the Father. Jn 1:14; Lk 1:34; Jn 3:16; Phil 2:5-8; 1 Cor 15:3-5

d) We believe that man was created in the image of God. He fell into sin and consequently separated from God. All men are sinners, both by birth and choice. As a result, man is by nature depraved, under condemnation, and unable to divine righteousness. Gen 1:26; Ezek 18:4; Rom 3:10-18; 5:12-18

e) We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and complete work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary.

f) We believe in the reality and personality of Satan and the eternal judgement of him and his angels. Lk 4:1-13; Eph 6:12; Matt 25:41

g) We believe that the church is

  • The redeemed community of God’s people for all time.

  • The priesthood of all believers: Jesus Christ is both the head and the chief cornerstone of the church.

h) We believe that the essential functions of the church are:

  • To worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.

  • To build itself up in love and unity of the faith and grow up in all aspects into Christ, the head of the church

  • To actively engage in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ among all nations.

i) We believe in the resurrection of believers from the dead to eternal life and unbelievers to eternal judgement. 1 Cor 15:50-54; 1 Thess 4:16-17; 2 Thess 1:8-9

j) We believe that Jesus Christ will return to this earth personally, visibly, and bodily in power and glory to establish His kingdom. Jn 14:3; 1 Thess 4:16-17; Acts 1:11

k) Man, His Fall and Redemption

Man is a created being, made in the likeness and the image of God, but through Adam’s transgression and fall, sin came into the world. “All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one.” Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was manifested to undo the work of the devil and gave His life and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God (Rom 5:14, 3:10, 1 Jn 3:8). Salvation is the gift from God to man, separate from works and the law, and is made operative by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, producing works acceptable to God (Eph 2:8).

l) Eternal Life and the New Birth

Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men and, when experienced, produces eternal life (2 Cor. 7:10, 1 Jn 5:12)

m) Water Baptism

Baptism in water is by immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers only. The ordinance is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matt 28:19, Rom 6:4, Col 2:12).

The following recommendation regarding the water baptismal is adopted; to wit: “On the confession of your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and by His authority, I baptize you in the Name of the Father and the Holy Ghost. Amen.”

n) THE LORD’S SUPPER:

The Lord’s Supper should be performed until the second coming of the Lord Jesus for the commemoration of the death of Christ.

o) THE INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT:

Baptism of the Holy Ghost – The Baptism in the Holy Ghost and fire is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus Christ to all believers in this dispensation and is received subsequent to the New Birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matt 3:11; Jn 14:16,17, Act 2:4, 10:44-46, 19:6)

The believer has the privilege of being filled with the Holy Spirit. The Trust believes in talking in other tongues. That is the symbol of the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Infilling of the Holy Spirit and the speaking in other tongues No different.

p) DIVINE HEALING:

In the sacrificial death of the Lord Jesus on the cross, the healing power is also included, and to get the divine healing by prayer and faith is the privilege and right of each believer.

q) THE CHURCH:

The church is the group of believers, and its faith and experience shall be according to the doctrines of the apostles in the New Testament.

r) Resurrection of the Just and the Return of Our Lord

The angels said to Jesus’ disciples, “…this same Jesus…shall so come in like manner as ye have seen Him go into heaven.” His coming is imminent. When He comes, “…the dead in Christ shall rise first : then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air…” (Acts 1:11; 1 Thess 4:16, 17).

Following the Tribulation, He shall return to earth as King of kings and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years (Rev 20:6).

s) THE NEW HEAVEN AND EARTH:

The Lord is going to destroy the present earth and the heaven with the fire and then He will create new earth and heaven. 2 pet 3:10-14,
